Dear friends,
Design runs deep here. It’s not just what we do—it’s how we think. As a design-led business, every choice we make carries intention: from the products we put into the world (and the ones we choose not to), to the communications we send, to the physical spaces we create—like our showrooms.
You also see design in less expected places—like our factories (yes, all the machinery is painted Heath blue), where they’re located, and how they connect to the showrooms. It’s all part of the design–make–sell loop, under one roof, we love so much.
To create a culture of design, it can’t be just a department or only about how things look—it has to be embedded in everything. That means there’s a lot of design at Heath you may not see—but you feel: in the ways we gather, the language we use, and the details we obsess over. Like the ceramic medals handmade by Winnie—our Master Glazer of 52 years—for the water balloon toss at our summer BBQ. Who does that? We do!
The foundation for all you see and feel is how we design Heath as a business.
Consider this: the co-leadership model. Heath has, since its founding, been led by two people—a creative leader and an operational leader. From Edith and Brian Heath, to Cathy and Robin, and now... to new leadership.
(Yes, that’s real news—and we’ll explain.)
